Sounds like you feel pretty bad about the whole thing... sorry things happened how they did.

I also think there's an opportunity to give grace here though, instead of dwelling on how things should have gone. Sure... be disappointed... that's a fair response.... but realize it was not intentional and not take it personally. That's transcendent grace in the real world.
